Phipps Plaza & Lenox Square are great shopping locations that are across the street from one another. Also if your guest stay at a participating Buckhead hotel they’ll get a $25 gist card to use at the malls. Check out the details below:

Phipps Plaza - named a "Southern Best" in Southern Living magazine's Readers' Choice Awards - is anchored by Nordstrom, Belk, and Saks Fifth Avenue. As the Southeast's premier upscale shopping center, Phipps Plaza is home to more than 100 specialty stores including Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo, and Juicy Couture. At Phipps Plaza you'll also find four full service restaurants, a food court, and a 14-screen AMC theatre.

Phipps Plaza is located at the intersection of Peachtree and Lenox Roads in the stylish Buckhead area of Atlanta, Georgia: 3500 Peachtree Rd Ne, Atlanta, GA 30326

Lenox Square is anchored by Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus and Macy's, and features nearly 250 specialty stores - shops like Anthropologie, BCBG, Bobby Jones, Burberry, Brooks Brothers, Cartier, David Yurman, Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade, Kiehl's Since 1851, Hermes, Polo Ralph Lauren, Salvatore Ferragamo, and St. John. Experience fine dining at Prime or Clubhouse.

You've gotten great responses so far. Here's another way to categorize them, and what's best.

Looking for something? Phipps or Lenox.

Looking for out of the norm and to visit an Atlanta institution: Little Five Points (around the corner from the Jimmy Carter Library).

Outlet? Discovery Mills. North out of town on I-85, Sugarloaf Parkway exit.

Just looking and if you find something, fine; if you don't, fine: Decatur, Andrews Square in the heart of Buckhead (pricey), or Virginia Highland.

Bonus: Looking for a funky street that also happens to have an eclectic array of shops and restaurants: Cruise the mile or so called Cheshire Bridge Road.

Well, Kellee sure gives you a couple of good ideas...if your guest wants that type of shopping...thrifty of course.

Depending on what they like, here's a couple of other ideas:
Atlantic Station...again, not cheap, but a completely different atmosphere; the outlet malls up I-85 or GA400 are a maybe; don't forget areas like the Marietta Square if they're into antiques or the Scott Antique Market at Atlanta Expo on the 2nd weekend of the month www.scottantiquemarket.com ; or if they are here when a major festival is going on...like a Greek Festival, maybe there.

Malls aren't always the fun places to shop

I would say the obvious Lenox Square, Phipps, Northlake (i think its called in alpharetta) are nice malls.

There are outlets up 400 (North Ga premium outlets), tanger 75N, 85N and 75S...I believe.

If you like ecletic try little five points, virginia highlands.
